At MediaDevil, we produce a lot of our accessories in-house in the UK. Producing our own leather goods therefore felt like the next step on that journey.
This leather back protector for the iPhone 16 Pro is a tribute to the brave pioneers of our world who insist on not using a protective case (we salute your courage). It provides 'just enough' protection, meaning the phone no longer needs to be placed on a table as carefully as a rocket landing on the moon.
The back of this deceptively simple feat of engineering is using an adhesive that we chose after two years of trial and error testing. It'll bond firmly to the back of your device, but it can also be removed really easily without leaving marks or damaging the leather, and then it can be stuck down again.
You can still use a wireless charger with this leather skin applied, and it's also a great companion for our Artisanwallet case (link opens in new tab).
We're still experimenting with default logo colours for our UK-made leather goods. Currently, we're using a gold foil logo, but silver or engraved options are also available, on request.
What is full-grain leather?
We're using a full-grain pebbled leather, hand-picked by us from a vetted supplier.
Full-grain leather is the highest quality form of leather available, and full-grain leather goods develop a durable protective patina as you use them in daily life.
For cost reasons, most genuine leather products today are actually using 'split' leather, which is created when the durable premium surface of full-grain leather is removed and replaced with a grain-embossed polyurethane layer. Have you ever owned leather items that wore out quickly from use? This is why.

This is one of the only, if not THE only, true genuine leather back sticker/decals on the market and it is a fantastic addition to my iPhone 16 Pro aesthetic. This is hands down the best phone accessory for an iPhone if you love a minimalist aesthetic that looks and feels high quality but doesn't have the added bulk of cases and other bumpers today. I have a separate bumper that only covers the outside rim of the phone with small rubber nubs on the 4 phone corners so the camera is still protected and I needed a leather back decal that didn't have a full raised rim around the camera and this leather back decal fits the bill perfectly!
First off, the quality of the leather is amazing — soft yet durable, with a beautiful texture that feels premium in hand. I’ve tried a lot of phone skins before and they're usually low quality or just a vinyl film, but this one is genuine leather and it gives my iPhone 16 Pro a luxurious, high-end look without adding bulk. It has the perfect balance of sleekness and grip so I don't have to worry about my phone slipping out of my hands.
The installation was super easy. The adhesive is strong and durable enough to stay put, but it didn’t leave any sticky residue when I repositioned it. It fits the back of the phone perfectly, with precise cutouts that align with the camera square, but still fits with a bumper around the edges of the phone.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to enhance the look and feel of their iPhone without compromising on the slim minimalist aesthetic!
